Robert Ross Padgett

Robert Ross Padgett, well known for his philanthropic contributions in Eastern Oklahoma, graduated from Connors in 1925. His auctioneering skills have been donated to the Porter Peach Festival for thirty years, the Connors Bull Performance Test Program Sale for fifty years and the Muskogee Junior Livestock show. He has served on the Muskogee Chamber of Commerce, which he has served on for thirty nine years. He served thirty nine years on the Muskogee Sales Board and is the sole surviving member of the Muskogee Farmers Association Board of Directors. Padgett was named one of Muskogee’s “Person of the Century” in 2000. Mr. Padgett has been a member of the Odd fellows Lodge for seventy five years. He has been a Mason and Shriner for forty one years. Robert has been given the title of Lifetime Ambassador by the Mason and Ambassador At Large by the Shriners. He is an honorary member of the Bedouin Temple Legion of Honor. He has been a member of the Lions Club for thirty years and was given the Lions International President’s Appreciation Award in 1999. The Padgett family was named Muskogee County Ranching Family of the year in 1962 and the Friends of 4-H Award in 1989. Padgett also received the Distinguished Service Award from the Muskogee FFA in 1989. In 1974 he received a horary chapter FFA Degree form vocational agricultural teachers for thirty four years of outstanding service. Mr. Padgett had devoted his long and successful life to ranching, public service and especially helping young people. 

Robert was inducted on April 22, 2000.
