William Thomas “Tom” Johnson
Tom Johnson graduated from Connors State College in 1935. He then continued his education and graduated from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah. After graduation from NSU, Tom began teaching and coaching in 1937 at Pitcher Schools. He returned to CSC in 1946 as a coach, an instructor, and later an administrative officer as well as other positions until 1965. He retired from Warner Public Schools in 1977 after a life-long career in education that spanned 40 years. In 1934, the Muskogee Phoenix had this to say about Mr. Johnson, “Tom Johnson is considered by critics to be one of the finest linemen to ever play on an Aggie’s team as well as being one of the best guards in the state junior college conference. Not only is he a football star, he is also a baseball and basketball man.”
William was inducted on April 28, 2007.
