Reba A. Green

Reba Green, a native of Sallisaw, Oklahoma enrolled at Connors State College in 1947 and was voted the Football Queen that year. She graduated from Northeastern State University at Tahlequah, Oklahoma in 1950 with a degree in Home Economic and Business Education. She taught business courses at Sallisaw High School for 15 years. She has lived in Sallisaw all but two years of her life. She has been married to Gilbert more than 62 years and they have two children. After her teaching career, she spent her time in support of her family and doing volunteer work in the community. She has focused on Christianity and Education. She started a book review club with four members that now has 25 members and has done book reviews for civic organization and clubs. 

Reba has been very active in the First United Methodist Church in Sallisaw for many years. She has taught Sunday school, serves on various boards, and is a Trustee for the church. She served on the building committee for a new building, does inspirational public speaking in church and was the historian for the 150th year anniversary. 

Reba has devoted much time to community affairs. She supports the Boys and Girls Clubs, has raises money for the local hospital, for a friend to tour the Holy Land, and for a student to attend Law and Medical schools. Supported local charities by providing clothing, food, and toys for the needy and donated a year’s food supply to an orphanage in Africa for HIV children because the need was so great. She has provided financial support for Connors through donations to the Scholarship program. 

Reba was inducted April 25, 2009.
